Exploring Protagonist’s Transformation in Beauty and The Beast Movie Directed by Bill Condon

The objectives of the research are to analysis the protagonist’s transformation in beauty and the beast movie and also analysis the types of character trait and moral message in this film. The object of analysis is Beauty and The Beast movie which is a romantic movie thus it is in line with the objective of the research. The writer utilized a qualitative descriptive method for analyzing this movie by doing a few steps as follows: choosing what movie the writer wants to discuss, by watching a few times to find out which parts of the story that is interesting to discuss, and finding the aspects that stand out and give positive value to both writer and the reader. The research identified six character traits. The research also found five steps of transformation from being antagonist to become protagonist character by salvation and curse breaking. Additionally, the moral message of this film is that don’t judge people from the cover. The film also bans us from values like love, sacrifice, kindness, and immortality.
