The film Black Swan offers a compelling psychological exploration of the main character, Nina Sayers whose intense journey into perfectionism and mental instability reveals a deep struggle with anxiety and delusion. The objectives of this analysis include how Nina anxiety is portrayed in the film Black Swan, what are the factors of anxiety that Nina experiences and how Nina overcomes this anxiety. This research uses a qualitative method that involves several processes, including watching the film several times, looking for standout and intriguing scenes that should be analyzed and drawing conclusions from the research. The results of the analysis show, Nina’s anxiety is vividly portrayed through physical manifestations like compulsive skin-scratching, hallucinations, and paranoia. Her obsessive rehearsals, self-criticism, and interactions with controlling figures, such as her domineering mother and manipulative director, intensify her isolation and fear. Contributing factors include parental pressure, career demands, and her internal conflict between the roles of White and Black Swan. In her desperate quest for perfection, Nina embraces her darker side, but this ultimately leads to her psychological and physical breakdown, culminating in a tragic final performance where she believes she has achieved perfection at the cost of her sanity and life.
