STRUGGLE OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THE FIFTH WAVE MOVIE BY J BLAKESON

Literature, as an aggregate of written expression, highlights its vast nature, including
various formats and genres and forms of storytelling and expression through different
media. It can be concluded that literature shapes a community's identity and
significantly impacts cultural and social development. From the statement above,
literature, encompassing both written and verbal expressions, ranges a vast array of
styles and forms such as prose, poetry, drama, essays, comics, novels, graphic novels,
soap operas, electronic literature, and movies The purpose of this study is to investigate
the role of struggle in the plot of a movie, driving narrative progression, character
improvement, and thematic exploration. The author uses library research to make the
data complete. In this study, the collected data are analyzed using descriptive
qualitative method and the writer uses bibliographic research to complete the data. It
is concluded that struggle could be a principal component within the plot and driving
the plot, driving the narrative progression and character improvement. It could be
considered that struggles challenge characters to overcome obstacles and strive for
resolution, contributing to a compelling and significant cinematic experience.
