BIPOLAR DISORDER IN MAIN CHARACTER ALL THEBRIGHT PLACE MOVIE

This research analyzes the bipolar disorder experienced by the main character, Theodore Finch, in the film All the Bright Places. This research aims to identify the types, symptoms, and causes of bipolar disorder in the main character. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by analyzing dialogues and scenes from the film and referring to related academic sources. The results show that Finch experiences bipolar symptoms such as extreme mood swings, mania phases with excessive increase in energy, and depression phases with deep feelings of hopelessness. Childhood trauma, including physical abuse from his father, as well as genetic factors, were identified as the main causes of his bipolar disorder. The impact of this disorder was seen in Finch's inability to cope with daily life, which in turn affected his social and emotional relationships. This study provides insight into the importance of psychological treatment and support for individuals with bipolar disorder.
