The Expression Of Walter De Ville's Love Language In The Invitation Movie

 The motive of this study is to analyze the principal individual in the film "The Invitation." This research uses a descriptive qualitative technique, with facts taken from the movie, including pictures or screenshots, as well as the dialogue in the film. The concept used to discuss the love language is the principle proposed by Dr. Gary Chapman, a couples counseling expert who introduced the idea of the five love languages. Love language is a concept that explains how a person expresses love through actions directed toward another person. The five love languages are words of affirmation, receiving gifts, acts of service, quality time, and physical touch. This study analyzes how the principal character expresses these five love languages toward the female character, making her feel deeply loved. Based on the analysis, there are 11 instances of love language expressions found in the film: 3 occurrences of words of affirmation, 1 occurrence of receiving gifts, 3 occurrences of quality time, 1 occurrence of acts of service, and 3 occurrences of physical touch. This research aims to provide further insights into the application of love language theory in film media and how these expressions of love can influence relationships among characters.
