The use of slang has become an interesting phenomenon in digital communication, especially on social media platforms like YouTube. Lilly Singh, a well-known YouTuber, frequently uses various types of slang in her videos. This research aims to identify the types of slang and understand the functions of slang used by Lilly Singh. This study employes a descriptive-qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation and documentation. Four videos selected from Lilly Singh's YouTube channel were analyzed to identify and categorize the slang used based on the theories of types of slang by Yule (2010) and fuctions of slang by Allan & Burridge (2006). The findings of the analysis indicate that in Lilly Singh's videos, there are 11 types of slang; the most commonly used are borrowing and clipping, with 7 instances each. Additionally, the study found 7 functions of slang, with 10 instances each. This research shows that the use of slang not only enriches the language but also plays an importance role in forming relationships and interactions with the audience.
