TESIS: PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DAN GAYA BELAJAR TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MENULIS BAHASA INGGRIS; Studi Eksperimen di ABA BSI Jakarta

The objective of this experimental study is to find out the effect of instructional model and learning style toward the students’ English writing skill. The research was conducted at English Department the Academy of Foreign Language Bina Sarana Informatika (ABA BSI) Jakarta. Using factorial design 2 x 2, forty three ABA BSI students were involved in this study through multistage random sampling. The instruments are written test and learning style questionnaires. The data were analyzed using two ways ANAVA. Further analysis was carried out by employing the tuckey test.

The result of this research indicated that: (1) there is a significant different improvement of English writing skill between group of students who are learning by Cooperative Learning STAD type and group of students who are learning by Directive Learning model, (2) English writing skill of the visual learner taught by Cooperative Learning STAD type model is better than of those by Directive Learning model, (3) English writing skill of the auditory learners taught by Directive Learning model is better than of those by Cooperative learning STAD type model, and (4) there is an interaction effect between the instructional model and learning style toward English writing skill achievement.
