The
objective of this research is to know
about sadness feeling of the main
characters in Welcome to the Rileys movie. Sadness
is human basic emotions that whoever
can feel and experience in the
entire life. Sadness is divided into
several types: low intensity, moderate, and high intensity. The type of sadness
of the main characters categorized as high intensity sadness. The writer used descriptive method to be analyzed.
The writer watches this movie several times, and make an observation to corroborate the analysis. The writer also uses library research and Internet
bases program to get the data. The writer choses Welcome to the Rileys movie, directed by Jake Scott, this movie was chosen because it contains sadness vibes of the main
characters. In this movie the main characters were in the deep condolence toward their dead daughter, and their
sadness feeling change many things in their
life, the main characters try to find something
to make them loosen about their
daughter. The result of this
analysis indicated that: (1) Sadness feeling resulted negative emotions which
change people behavior (2) People in guilt
and shame cannot easily forgive themselves (3) Relationship among people cures
sadness feeling.
