STORYTELLING THROUGH PICTURE SERIES TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILL (A Field Research at SMPIT ALMARJAN, Duta Indah, Bekasi)


The objective of this research is to know the effect of teaching English speaking through storytelling based on picture. This research was conducted at SMPIT AlMarjan, Duta Indah Bekasi. The data were collected by observation during learning process in the class and from some E-book by expert to get theory. This program contains planning how to improve develop the students’ speaking ability through storytelling. This research uses descriptive qualitative method to get data. In this case writer makes an observation during teaching in the class and get the result based on the learning process in real time. The result of the research indicates that: (1) Teaching English speaking through storytelling is good way to improve students’ speaking ability (2) it makes students interesting during learning process (3) students become active and enjoy the learning process (4) students can explore their imagination and combine with speaking skill during delivering the storytelling based on the picture.
