After the phenomenon of code-mixing and code-switching in Indonesia became viral in the last September and when the used of code-mixing appeared in social media, people start to combine their language with English. . For example the phenomenon of the used of code-mixing in language style of South Jakarta community. This community focuses on the style of speech which they usually use in daily life both in verbal and non-verbal communication in WhatsApp and Twitter. The used of code-mixing helps them to communicate with others because not all people can use the language properly.This research aims to prove that the community in South Jakarta has used code-mixing. The community began to merge their languages namely Bahasa Indonesia with words, phrases, and clauses into English. The writer uses the method of qualitative-descriptive which is done by doing the library and internet research with the relevant sources and also collecting the data that will be analyzed and described by explaining the result of the research. The conclusion of the research is by often using of code-mixing, the people indirectly increase their vocabularies both in Bahasa Indonesia and English. And it is known from the research the most dominated type of code-mixing that is used in South Jakarta community is Intra-sentential. This phenomenon influenced many people to start to apply code-mixing.
