DISCRIMINATION IN MOVIE GREEN BOOK DIRECTED BY PETER FARRELLY

ABSTRACT 

Hilda Shalehah (31160152), Discrimination In Movie Green Book Directed By

Peter Farrelly 

The objective of the result an analysis of discrimination in the movie Green Book

directed by Peter Farrelly is how to encourage people to know more about

discrimnation, how to respond if you experience discrimination, and know about the

damaging effect of discrimination. So this can encourage people to not commit

discrimination. Through analysis the movie, the writer uses descriptive qualitative

method by the theory of parse (2001). Moreover, the writer also applies the racism

theory as racial discrimination ideology during analysis of the data. While analysis

movie, the writer found there are two forms of racism that show in movie Green

Book, such as relational racism and social exclusion. The writer also found that

character show the response they against through discrimiation. Moreover, the writer

found some effect of racism such as an emotional damage and causes the character

feel confused his identity. After analysis the story, the writer concludes that racial

discrimination is the major theme in movie Green book and social status not a major

factor in discriminatory behavior.
