EMPATHY OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN PADDINGTON 2 MOVIE DIRECTED BY PAUL KING

ABSTRACT

 

Joyce Angelica Lori Sampean (31160207),Empathy of The Main Character in

Padington 2 Movie Directed by Paul K. 


The purpose of this analysis was to get a clear data about empathy of main character in 

Paddington 2 movie. The writer also analyzed empathy includes the kind, aspect, and the

factor that affect empathy found in Paddington 2 movie. In this research the writer used

descriptive qualitative method. The procedures was conducted by watched the whole

movie and served the data supported the research. The result of this research exposed

some types of empathy such as compassion empathy, emotional empathy, for the aspect

are fantasy, empathic concern, and emotion contagion, and the last are factors that can

affect empathy such as socialization. it could be found that empathy is about a deeper

emotion that human felt toward others by put  their self in others positions, so it makes

them understand what others feeling and able to take the right action in order to help

others.
