ABSTRACT


 

Salsabyla Putri (31160123), Emotions in The Edge of Seventeen Movie Directed by Kelly

Fremon Craig. 

This is the result of an analysis of various emotions in the film The Edge of Seventeen directed

by Kelly Fremon Craig, the purpose of conducting this analysis is to provide clear data on

various forms of emotions and also the author analyzes the reasons why the main character does

something. It also aims to find out how the main character's way to solve the problem that

occurs. In doing this analysis, the author uses the qualitative description method. The research

was conducted by watching the whole film and providing data that supports research. This

research shows that the emotions that occur often are interpreted as something negative by most

people. When, people are angry most people always say that the person is emotional, while for

the results of the analysis it can be found that emotions are not absolute negative things. There

are two types of emotions, namely positive emotions and negative emotions. These positive and

negative emotions are experienced by the main characters who make them have to learn how to

put emotions right.
