ABSTRACT

 

 

Taqiyyah Utami Tufiq (31150165), Autism Spectrum Disorder Of Main Character In The Accountant Movie Directed By Gavin O’connor.

 

The purpose of this paper is to inform people more about autism spectrum disorder, specially the diagnostic criteria and effects that could happen to autistic children. The writer is motivated to make this research because of her sister who has psychological disorder. Well, she wants people to know and understand about psychological disorder and decides to make a research of autism spectrum disorder of the main character in The accountant movie using qualitative descriptive method. The data that the writer uses in this research are the movie itself and some theories from books and prior studies. Result from this research; the writer finds three diagnostic criteria of autism that the main character has. Those are deficits in social communication and social interaction, restricted patterns of behavior, interest or activities, and symptoms that present in early developmental period. the writer also found some effect that caused by the autism such as stereotyped behavior and difficulty to communicate with others.
