TEAMWORK IN THE INTERNSHIP MOVIE DIRECTED BY SHAWN LEVY

ABSTRACT

 

Axcel Julio Imanuel Sahusilawane (31160224), Teamwork in The Internship Movie Directed by Shawn Levy.

 

The purpose of this study is to find out about teamwork within The Internship movie, specifically the representation of teamwork, the types of teamwork, and the benefits of teamwork in the movie. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive method. The writer collected the data about teamwork in the movie by watching it repeatedly and analyzing it. The result of this study exposed two representation of teamwork, two types of teamwork and four benefits of teamwork with the fifth benefit, which is a new discovery found by the writer. It is found that teamwork is a strategy that can improve performance of individuals, which needs to be nurtured with time. The types of teamwork that are found within the movie are tactical and problem solving. Meanwhile, the benefits of teamwork found are improving work life quality, reducing absenteeism and increase turnover, increasing innovation and change, improving organizational adaptability and flexibility as well as increasing closeness between teammates. This study also contained a moral message that teamwork is something that helps a person became better version of themselves through working together as team.
