ABSTRACT
Promotion Position is influenced by several factors, one of which is Performance Appraisal. If the
Performance Appraisal is good then the greater the chance someone to get Promotion Position, and
vice versa. The purpose of this study is to know the effect of Employee Performance Appraisal (X) on
Job Promotion (Y) at PT EMS Mega Semesta Jakarta In this study the authors use primary data by
distributing koesioner to the respondents ie employees of PT EMS Mega Semesta Jakarta. This
research uses quantitative method with saturated sampling technique and calculated using statistical
computer program that is SPSS version 21. From the calculation of Correlation Coefficient Test
obtained results of 0.736 which shows a positive relationship between the influence of Employee
Performance Appraisal on Promotion Position at PT EMS Mega Semesta Jakarta. Based on the
calculation of Coefficient of Determination obtained the number of 0.541 indicates that the magnitude
of influence Employee Performance Appraisal of Promotion of Position by 54% and the remaining
46% Promotion Position is influenced by other factors. The result of calculation of Simple Linear
Regression analysis obtained the equation Y = 16,812 + 0,603 X which means there is significance
between Employee Performance Appraisal to Promotion Position. The results of this study still need
to be developed further to know other factors that can increase Promotion Position.
