Nani Kristinawati (31130033), STRUGGLE OF PROTAGONIST CHARACTER IN THE MEMOIR OF A GEISHA NOVEL WRITTEN BY ARTHUR GOLDEN

The objective of this research is to know the Struggle of Protagonist Character through Memoir of a Geisha Novel. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method in analyzing Struggle Protagonist character in Memoir of Geisha novel written by Arthur Golden in order to conduct the paper arrangement precisely. Procedure that writer taking in order to get this best result is to reads the book and tooksome references from the Internet sources and the library sources by trying to visit some library in Jakarta and do some comparison to get the point of the story and the dialogue in the novel to support the analysis for the complete final assignment. The results of this research indicated that: (1) Main character has to pass many struggle acts in life. (2) To analyze Struggle of Protagonist Character inside the Novel, writer doing a comparison of perception between the people of Indonesia and the people of Japan at this time. (3) To give the moral message from Struggle of Protagonist Character for the readers from the novel.
