Desi Ramayanti (31140169), Revenge on Dwight’s Character in Blue Ruin Movie Directed by Jeremy Saulnier
The purpose of
this study is to know the actions of a person especially revenge that is
experienced by the character Dwight in the movie Blue Ruin. The writer focus on
analyzing the type of revenge experienced by Dwight and the causes of revenge
experienced by Dwight in the Blue Ruin film. The writer uses qualitative
methods for this analysis. The writer uses depression type theory based on
Grand Duwe (2007) and the theory cause of revenge based on Jerald Greenberg
(2011). The results indicated that there are three types of revenge experienced
by Dwight, namely: (1) Target of a particular person (2) Target a specific
place (3) Target spread. While for the cause of revenge experienced by Dwight,
the writer conclude that there are three causes of revenge are: (1) Injustice
(2) Attack on individual identity (3) Frustration
