Abstraksi

Agritourism is part of a tourist attraction, which use the agricultural business (Agri), as a tourist attraction. Agritourism development in accordance with possibilities, typology, and environmental services, which will directly affect the sustainability of land resources and incomes for farmers, as well as the surrounding community, which in turn will affect the increase in foreign currency. Development of rural tourism, in turn, creates jobs, because it can absorb of labor. The purpose of this research is to know the size of the potential development of Agro, Agro Tourism development strategy and its impact on the tourism sector. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative-rationalistic approach. Qualitativerationalistic method is based on a holistic approach in the form of a general concept (the concept of grand) checked on a particular object (specific object), which is then put back the research results obtained on the general concept. The results showed that the development of agro-tourism has become the major programmes in several parts of Indonesia, is due to the increased number of tourists in 2002-2009, mostly want to tour in the form of rural tourism. Development of agro-tourism cannot be separated from the role of the Government responsible for tourism and farmers, as Tri Mitra. Agro development cannot be separated from the application of strategies that have become important factors in the success of this goal. Thanks to the development of rural tourism, which emphasize local culture in the use of land, we can increase the income of farmers while preserving land resources, and preserve local culture and technology (indigenous knowledge), which is generally in accordance with the terms of their natural environment.
