STRATEGY OF INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT OF SENUKO VILLAGE AS PILGRIMAGE TOURISM IN GODEAN, SLEMAN,YOGYAKARTA

 Infrastructure development in tourist area is very important part, because it’s directly deals with tourism convenience along their journey. Infrastructure factors is major consideration in tourists decision to buy, and back again or not at all. Senuko village has pilgrim tourism attraction which is much demanded by people who are mostly Moslems. Each visitor need adequate infrastructure and facilities for pilgrimage tourism activities in Senuko village, but has not been fulfilled yet as visitors desired. That’s very important matter for tourism stakeholder due to related with tourism survival and welfare enhancement of local community. SWOT analysis methods is used to determine the appropriate infrastructure development strategy, by analyzing the existing environmental conditions, including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The Infrastructure development undertaken in Senuko tourism is using  bottom-up approach, by emphasis on local community participation  on development process. The development plan is done by creating a lay out mapping which is devided into five zone, namely zone I to zone V. The development of each zone implemented gradually by involving the local community, without leaving the existence of local cultural values.
